We started SMH Inventory because spreadsheets, as great as they are, introduce opportunity for manual errors and not everyone sees information the same way. Inventory itself is complicated from both an accounting and production standpoint. Many of the legacy accounting systems are built on many layers of aged technology and often require consultants plus a large budget to implement and maintain. Other Inventory Management Systems use "Standard Cost" as a placeholder for a production unit, such as a case of beverages or apparel SKU. We know component costs fluctuation by production run and operators and their teams cannot proactively adjust costs unless they have the correct costs at their fingertips. SMH Inventory focuses on the smallest unit of a product from raw materials to shipping costs to the customer and provides accurate, trackable costing. While we enjoy a good spreadsheet, scaling and delegation does not work without reliable data that is connected to as much of the organization as possible. Our customers use SMH Inventory to provide insights and actionable information that makes a impact from day 1.
